Anti-Israel/Pro-Hamas Protests Are Eerily Reminiscent of B.L.M. Riots

ANTI-ISRAEL, PRO-HAMAS PROTESTERS have the entire U.S. (and the world) on edge due to their barely contained rage against Israel and President Benjamin Netanyahu over Hamas’ surprise and deadly attack last year and Israel’s unsurprising and deadly response to it.

Since then, students at many of our nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities (such as Columbia, Yale, N.Y.U., and U.S.C.) have loudly, persistently, and sometimes violently protested or rioted on and off campuses to be heard. The message has not been well received by most Americans, and many are tired of listening to the bullsh!t. For anyone over the age of, say, 30, with a modicum of maturity of thought and action, Palestinians may have good reasons to be unhappy about their plight, but attacking Israel wasn’t exactly the smartest way to express it.

The situation world-wide, or in the U.S., has not improved. Indeed, it has only gotten worse, with clearly outside financed encampments reminiscent of the Zuccotti Park Occupy Wall Street encampment in 2011 and its nationwide progeny, the Occupy Movement, that lasted for months thereafter. Many believe, based on history, that today’s riots are being financed by outside instigators and agitators with anti-American agendas, such as, for prime example, George Soros and his Open Society Foundation. Obviously, someone is financing and organizing it. It isn’t organic. The students are seemingly being used as useful idiots for radical ideology. While they have every right to peacefully protest, it doesn’t necessarily make their positions right…

On a daily basis, news has been replete with accounts of these protests, riots, criminal threatenings, sit-ins, occupations, encampments, and disruptions, as well as academia’s and police departmentsmarginal responses to these students and, interestingly, their encouraging faculties. Occupy? No, maybe it’s more like the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020…

Students in some cases have been sent home due to possible danger. See e.g., here and here. Classes have become remote or have been cancelled altogether for the safety of Jewish students who understandably feel threatened by the milieu on campus. See e.g., here, here, here. Graduations have been or may be cancelled. See e.g., here, here, ] and here. The anti-Israeli, pro-Palestinian students have sometimes gone so far as to advocate for the killing of Jews, putting those students squarely in the ranks of neo-Nazis, who believe their Jewish cohorts or ‘Zionists’ somehow deserve it. A particularly startling video of a Columbia student, Khymani James, went viral, here. (He was later “barred from campus,” whatever that means, and said he was wrong.)

The Biden regime seems almost amused, and instead of unequivocally condemning these students’ acts, reverts to poor policies, such as extending and expanding unwarranted, warrantless surveillance of Americans ; expanding and increasing taxes on them in response to a high inflationary period of the regime’s own making; or trivializing and replacing them  altogether with vast waves of illegal aliens invading. ‘Cancel’ student loans? F- – –  that…
